Hot-magotchi

Hot-magotchi is an artwork that draws inspiration from my personal experience of longing for a pet as a child while constantly moving around cities and countries. The breakthrough came when I finally got a Tamagotchi, a virtual pet that provided instant companionship. The concept of Hot-magotchi evolved from humanity's increasing vulnerability and the societal shift towards seeking instant connections and gratification, particularly in a world that has been pushed towards digital engagement during the pandemic.

The work highlights how much of society now relies on virtual interaction, and offers a satirical take with the introduction of Hot-magotchi—a low-effort, subscription-based solution for the commitment-phobic, perfectly suited for our COVID-conscious world. It’s a playful, yet critical commentary on the modern age’s pursuit of instant emotional fulfillment through digital means.
